The Job of the Swimming Pool Filter

Swimming pool filters play an important role in keeping your swimming pool clean. It's a key component of the pool's filtration system. When filters are clean water can easily pass through them. As the filter does it's job, and removes dirt and debris from the swimming pool water, you will notice the pressure starting to rise. The water is unable to pass through the filter as easily.

In general, filters should be cleaned twice a year to remove the accumulated debris. Filters should be back-washed after one to three months of use, or after the filter has built up around 10 PSI over the clean pressure reading.

Not cleaning your filter regularly can result in a cloudy pool, or worse, damaged pool equipment. If you are unsure of how to clean your filter, give us a call at 817-442-5787. If you are a DIYer, we offer Pool Schools and can teach you the proper care for your filter. Or, we offer filter cleaning services for both regular service customers and non-regular service customers.
